5/16/15 Relief for Nepal Update: Aparna News

"Aparna is a "fire ball". She is capable and enthusiastic. She gets things done.  She puts her dreams into action. She has a goal and before you know it has manifested on the earth.  I've never met a person exactly like her - Aparna is exceptional".

Dear Healing Touch Community,

Healing Touch Worldwide Foundation (HTWF) would like to thank each of you for your generosity during our Nepal Earthquake Relief Campaign.   It is wonderful to see how our Healing Touch Community has come together to assist one of our own during the aftermath of the April 25, 2015 earthquake.   To date we have raised $12,700 in total funds.  Donations totaling $10,000 have been sent to Nepal to provide daily essentials for Aparna and to provide Healing Touch to the Nepalese people.

As HTWF develops strategy for Phase 2: From Tarps to Tin, and Phase 3: Long-term efforts, we will be searching for volunteers to assist with growing Healing Touch Nepal.  Not everyone has the time or financial means to travel to foreign countries to participate in humanitarian work, but with an open heart, focus, and loving intention you can make a difference!   In the next few weeks, HTWF will be expanding our core relief committee.  Please search your hearts, take stock of your expertise, talents and sense of community and consider how you could be a part of this incredible heart-felt gift of love.

We would like to offer a very special thank you to Healing Touch Program for their support in sharing communications with the HT Community.

Together we are Spreading Healing Light Worldwide.

Bonnie Morrow's Journey with Aparna

My personal journey with Aparna has been a delightful one.  Norm and I traveled to Nepal for me to teach a Level 1 and Level 2 class in 2010.  This very petite lady met us at the Kathmandu airport and presented us with the traditional yellow silk scarf.  But let me back up a moment, Barb Starke and I were talking at the 2009 Conference and she mentioned a teacher needed to continue their teaching in Nepal.  Barb Starke and Mary Sinclair had recently been teaching in Nepal, I put my hand up and said "I'll do it" and thus started my journey.

I taught my levels and had 26 students in my Level 1, one being a medical doctor and one shaman from the mountains.  All the students were eager and delightful.  This energy work is so needed in Nepal.  Not charged for the classes as this country is very poor.  HTP was generous in allowing use of their materials at no cost no cost. and there was no residual paid back to HTP.  Neither Aparna nor I were paid a salary.  These classes were a gift from the heart to the Nepalese people.

During my time with Aparna, I was able to motivate her to pursue her certification.  I became her mentor.  Barb Starke reviewed her final packet and said she was impressed with her work.  This put Aparna on her current path.  I was delighted to be a part of it. Her next step was to come to the United States and take her instructor training. This was financially made possible by Healing Touch Program and Healing Touch Worldwide Foundation.

Aparna is a "fire ball".  She is capable and enthusiastic. She gets things done.  She puts her dreams into action. She has a goal and before you know it has manifested on the earth.  I've never met a person exactly like her - Aparna is exceptional.

Aparna is a HT Level 1, 2, and 3 Instructor and has grown HT in Nepal and even into India. The latest instructors to support Aparna are Tim and Pam McConville with a Level 4 class.  All those who have taught in Nepal and know Aparna are huge supporters of the Nepal community.

In 2014, Aparna was able to spend a week in our home.  It was an exciting time.  During this time we learned a bit about her personal journey.  She was introduced to Healing Touch while living in the US.  She has a two married daughters still living in the US, one son who lives in London and her son in Kathmandu attends medical school.  Aparna calls me "Mom" and that is an honor.
