5/8/15 Relief for Nepal Update: Teaching Level 4

Teaching Healing Touch Level 4 in Nepal
Aparna, Ingrida Kancans-McLaughlin, & Tim and Pam McConville

On April 29th, 2015 HTWF's first Constant Contact Blast was sent to the Healing Touch Community requesting contributions for the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund. Because of your generosity, $5500.00 has been collected thus far. HTWF has wired Aparna $5000 for immediate needs.

Aparna plans to provide resources, medical care, and Healing Touch to remote areas that are underserved by current relief efforts. Healing Touch will be the centerpiece of the effort as everyone will benefit from it. Other resources including medical care and cooking supplies will be provided according to need. The team will include members of Nepal Healing Touch community, volunteers, and medical team.

HTWF is offering a path for our community to directly help Aparna. Contributions made through this fundraising effort will benefit her immediate needs, as well as helping her provide Healing Touch to the people of Nepal.

Aparna and the families of Nepal need our love, prayers and support. In honor of Aparna's generosity of spirit in helping others, we ask you hold her in love and light and join us in helping Spread Healing Light Worldwide.

2015 Nepal Trip
by Tim & Pam McConville

Pam, I and our fellow HTCP Ingrida Kancans-McLaughlin just came back from a delightful 19 days in Nepal with Aparna Bhatta. We were returning to the states just when the quake changed everything. HTWF had sponsored our trip to teach Nepal's first level 4 class and help Aparna with outreach and community projects. We are grateful for so many ways that we were able to contribute beyond holding the class. Almost immediately after arrival the schedules changed and things happened in ways guided by spirit, orchestrated by Aparna. We met some local and some of the highest ranking public figures who saw the benefits of Healing Touch and were changed. We worked with children, women's groups, a rehabilitation organization, a college and individuals for healing sessions and instruction. I trust that we have given many people skills that can help them hold their balance and better cope with the disaster.

The activities that manifested while we were there were truly phenomenal. While we were often the center of attention, Aparna was just using her visiting resources to help continue the expanding her reach and get Janet's work done. She very much believes and manifests Janet's goal of having Healing Touch in every home, school and hospital. She is working from the bottom up. We held three introductory classes while we were with her. She and a local Ayurvedic doctor arranged a class with 60 people in Pokara. Another class was arranged on a moments notice, attended by 35 children and 11 adults. Excerpts of this were broadcast to Nepalese around the world. Another spontaneous class was organized for us by the executive and faculty of a college.

Aparna has an amazing connection of resources and people to assist those in need. She has a huger heart and truly devotes her life to helping humanity. Healing Touch is just one of the many ways that she helps people. She has trained over 300 people in the first three levels of Healing Touch, never charging for classes. She is very active and instrumental in Women's health education, rural hospitals, women's rights and many more efforts. We have been in touch with Aparna and some of the level 4 students. They have been providing treatments, helping transport people to the hospital, trauma counseling and raising funds for masks, food, water purification. Aparna just hiked 5 hours the other day to bring medical supplies to a hard hit remote area.

I have sent my funds to help her knowing that her pattern selfless service will continue and all monies raised will be used for the neediest and worthy ways to help her people and Healing Touch community hold strong in order to rebuild a better Nepal.
